Gainesville, FL (Sept 9) – The Burn a Quran saga continues as Reverend Jones now claims he was lied to regarding a deal struck to move the World Trade Center Mosque in lieu of him canceling his planned bonfire consisting of Qurans.
In the latest news conference Reverend Jones states the Florida Imam “clearly, clearly lied to us,” regarding moving the New York City mosque.
According to Imam Musri, the only agreement reached between Reverend Jones and himself was a trip to New York City to discuss the matter on this coming Saturday.
Admittedly, if there was any confusion on what was agreed upon during the meeting between Musri, and Jones there was plenty of time for clarification during their first scheduled news conference. Instead, Musri and Jones stood side-by-side as Jones released his statement canceling the Quran burning protest on Saturday under the agreement regarding the mosque. Musri, made no indications at that time that there was any conflict or confusion.
Musri later told the press, that he had only agreed to the New York City meeting and nothing else.
It is uncertain at this time if, Reverend Jones has changed his stance and will proceed with his planned protest in the form of a Quran bonfire on Saturday to mark the ninth anniversary of the murder of thousands of American’s on American soil by Islamic terrorists.
Jones has released a statement that the planned bonfire has not been canceled only suspended in light of the current denial of an agreement between Florida Muslims and New York Muslims.
The debate is on about what can be done to prevent the Reverend from going forward with his planned Burn a Quran Day event since, there is no law or laws preventing anyone from burning books, with the exception of local and environmental laws banning outdoor burning.
First amendment rights and Supreme Court rulings regarding such protests including burning the United States flag have been favorable to those holding such events.
It may simply turn out to be something Muslims around the world will simply have to ignore, as the grandstanding around the event has caused more commotion than the event itself. On the other hand, it will simply give radical Muslims around the world a fresh excuse to murder Americans.
