Prior to recessing for ten days, on May 28, 2010, the House resolved its differences regarding additions tacked onto the bill by the Senate with a roll call vote of 245 to 171. In turn, the House passed their approval back to the Senate with cavaets.
To quickly summarize the Tax Extenders Bill (H.R. 4213), this bill will extend the filing deadline for existing tiers of unemployment benefits through December 31, 2010 along with “extending” COBRA benefit subsidies for the American unemployed. The bill also contains several tax provisions (more than one can count) and an extension of the current rate of Medicare payments to doctors.
