Carson City, NV (Jun 25) – In a state with the highest unemployment rate in the country, along with the notoriety of being dead last in education, not just 50th, but 51st, now Nevada taxpayers will be footing the bill for a $20,000 portrait of outgoing Governor Jim Gibbons.

Gibbons, famous for losing a re-election bid on June 8th, and the only sitting Nevada Governor to have ever done so, will now cost the residents of Nevada even more money.

Sources within the capital say there was a lot of joking going on, including a remark that $5,000 for his portrait should be enough. However, the Board of Examiners did vote to appropriate 20 grand so that a Gibbons portrait can be commissioned, painted, and hung with past Governors.

The Legislature’s Interim Finance Committee approval to use money from “a contingency fund” is expected to go unchallenged.

Gibbons, et. al are taking huge chunks out of education, tossing teachers and school supplies aside like so much dead weight, challenging firefighters salaries, and police man power, all in the lame name of balancing a huge budget deficit. Akin to trimming toenails when serious exploratory surgery is needed.

Oh, and don’t forget to throw in suing the federal government because said government agreed to help Nevada, and add a dash of infidelity while counting. All this in a state already reeling and so deeply underwater no one is sure when we will resurface.

Yet it is just peachy to spend $20,000 on a loser’s portrait.

Ask around. There is sure to be plenty of unemployed talent willing to do it for say $100.

By: T. Cahill

Washington, D.C. (Jun 22) – Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL), Majority Whip, tried valiantly during this morning’s Senate session to address the current GOP Party’s pity party about deficit spending and their lack of economic understanding that not only do millions of Americans depend on the Senate making the right and only decision regarding unemployment extensions, but the outright two-faced approach the Republicans have maintained from the Great Depression to this very day.

Source: http://www.c-spanvideo.org/program/294180-1
(Minutes 20:26 – 29:41)

Immediately after Senator Durbin’s conclusion, his entire presentation of facts and needs was dismissed and the continued subject of nominations was taken up.

Nine minutes devoted this morning to the unemployment crisis; nine minutes.

Nominations, more grandstanding about health care, and the border patrol are what the Senate deemed important during its morning session today, not the pressing concerns of financial assistance for millions of unemployed.

Yesterday’s summary of the afternoon Senate session also saw the glaring disregard of unemployed millions. A complete and utter disregard to give individuals and families the ways and means of feeding their families, and keeping a roof over their heads, as so many continue to hunt, fruitlessly, for jobs that do not exist.

The June 21st session was more concerned with votes regarding the nomination of Marc T. Treadwell, of Georgia, to be United States District Judge for the Middle District of Georgia, and confirming Mark A. Goldsmith, of Michigan, to be United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Michigan.

While confirmations are important, what is even more important to note is that the afternoon session started around 2 p.m. and finished up at 7:27 p.m. EDT. During the entire almost 5.5 hours, the subject of H.R. 4213 and the much needed unemployment extensions and attendant motions was never on their radar.

The Senate session began, not with the resolution of current pressing business at hand, but with the introduction of four new bills and two resolutions, text of which is not yet available at Thomas.loc.gov. With two weeks, yet another break, and then the remaining four weeks left of the 111th Congress, the unemployed are back burner material.

Next up yesterday? S.2724 regarding the Lake Tahoe Basin and its environmental restoration and forest management activities, moving along to training for Federal building personnel, and then on to authorizing “appropriations for the National Historical Publications and Records Commission through fiscal year 2014, with amendments. (S. Rept. No. 111-213)”.

Then, although Father’s Day was Sunday, the ever important “Recognizing the Contributions of Fathers: Committee on the Judiciary was discharged from further consideration of S. Res. 560, recognizing the immeasurable contributions of fathers in the healthy development of children, supporting responsible fatherhood, and encouraging greater involvement of fathers in the lives of their families, especially on Father’s Day, and the resolution was then agreed to.”

How fathers will be able to contribute to the healthy development of their children, be responsible fathers, if they are jobless appeared a comparision beyond their feeble minds. Perhaps it is only some fathers that are more important that others?

Next, in typical times, pausing to designate June 25, 2010, as National Huntington’s Disease Awareness Day would have been a good idea, but with thousands of diseases, including ALS, MS, Parkinson’s and so many others, was yesterday really the day to spend time making this “important” business on the Senate floor? I say this not to offend but to point out that prioritizing seems almost beyond the Senate’s abilities.

More nominations, in addition to the ones mentioned earlier, many more, followed.

After a busy morning firmly spent ignoring the fact that as of last Friday, the Senators left for the weekend without addressing the most pressing need within this country, unemployment extensions and benefits, and jobs creation, it appears the new week, to date, is a repeat of last week.

It apparently is so easy to ignore those pesky unemployed.

Nick Clegg represented real change simply by being the third man in what is typically a two man race... And we let it slip away. Congratulations. Enjoy the abyss, we are almost there.

(May 10) – Chaos would probably be the word to use when describing what exactly is happening in British politics right now. After the general election provided no clear winner, resulting in a hung parliament, the discussions to see which parties will join forces has begun and is causing controversy throughout all sides of the argument.

Nick Clegg, leader of the Liberal Democrats, has been courting the Conservative party as potential partners in a coalition government. Much to the dismay of every person who took the chance, held their bottle and voted for the kind of change Lib Dem proposed, as in actual change, which would have reset the disgusting political system that we have no option but to abide in this Country.

The Liberal Democrat Party joining forces with the Conservative Party is a contradiction, a massive, epic contradiction. A liberal party has no place working with a conservative party, although I fully understand why Clegg felt he has to discuss it with Cameron and his Tories.

In the interest of democracy, Clegg entered into talks with Cameron because the British, sorry English public spoke and the majority of votes went to the Conservative Party. The Scots showed the Conservatives that there is to be no forgetting what that despicable party, led by the most villainous old hag Thatcher did to this country. The Scots will not mourn her, when she finally goes her passing will no doubt be toasted. It may seem harsh, but as harsh as it may be, if you are Scottish you will completely understand.

A Conservative Government would have no interest in Scotland, particularly when led by someone as clueless as David Cameron. A Lib-Dem/Tory coalition would do Scotland no good, while many Tory voters south of the border cry about Gordon Brown still being in Downing Street, apparently the Tory voters would rather have no leader while the rest of the parties try to woo each other.

Therefore, it would appear that it isn’t just the Tory leader that is a clueless idiot, but also the Tory voters who are childish and completely uninformed. Forgetting, it seems that the rules by which they live and work suggest that since no one actually won the election, the current situation in Downing Street is the right way to play things.

I understand that Tories the length and breadth of the country are aching for Cameron to take office and begin his campaign to make the rich richer, and the poor well, one can only guess what their fate will be unless, Cameron does the unthinkable, and actually attempts to help the poor, a most neoconservative idea. Do not worry rich folk; there is no chance of the Conservatives doing anything that will put your precious money at risk, certainly not to help any less lucky fellow humans at least.

Not that Labour are in anyway different to the Conservatives, they are the same thing, which is why I find it so amusing that people would be getting worked up about which party takes the job. I detest David Cameron sure, but it is because he is utterly vacant and devoid of any kind of sense and I feel that common sense dictates that I should be wary of him as a leader.

On the flipside, I do not mind Brown as much. He has made some gargantuan mistakes, and as such does not deserve to keep his job. Nevertheless, he has admitted that by announcing his resignation today. This, however, will not take effect before the talks of coalition have been resolved. The worry I have is who will replace him. One of the creepy Millibands, or that little weasel of a man Jack Straw. I am 100% against both big parties, and if Nick Clegg humiliates every man and woman who had the guts to vote for his party by siding with the Conservatives, then I am against his party too.

If only more people had actually stuck to their initial post-debate reaction and voted Lib-Dem then we would not be in this stupid position. If you think Conservatives will save the day, you are wrong. In the same respect if you still think Labour are in any way helpful to us, or are in fact in anyway different to the Conservatives, well, I’d have to disagree with you on that also.

Is this the most boring man on the planet?

The Conservative right wing, led by a man called Richard Ottaway says that Cameron should go ahead and leave Nick Clegg behind. One of these far right Tories also said a coalition between Labour and Lib Dem would be a “coalition of losers”. I guess that is as much of a sense of humour you could be expected to find in the Conservative party, by definition they are humourless. A prime example ->

We had the chance to change this country, a change that would have long lasting and possibly quite positive effect. No more Lords bleeding us dry from their unelected and completely redundant position in life. With Electoral reform, no more Trident nukes and a responsible debate hopefully, on reform on the very irresponsible and completely unscientific laws on drugs. I can’t be the only person who sees a problem and a solution.

We are in financial meltdown, yet there is a very easy fix in the form of certain drugs being legalised. The legalisation and control of marijuana would not only generate a lot of money from the sales, but imagine the money that would be saved by not prosecuting people because they get caught with weed on them, or the money it costs to fight the war on drugs which is as ludicrous a concept as I have ever heard. In my house in the middle of the night watching TV, I am an enemy combatant in the war on drugs. I am a dangerous man worthy of an expensive and continuous war against both, myself and people like me.

It would seem that in dedication to the ongoing mystery in British politics, I have gone on some long winded and possibly nonsensical diatribe in which I flit from one idea to the next. Although I would like to believe that, my political beliefs are indeed that, contradictory. I am not in the hot seat though, I’m a writer, I can make wild and crazy assaults on people and those of a nervous or hippy-like disposition probably won’t like some things I have to say, like the guy who said I was inciting violence by applauding a racist getting punched.

Nevertheless, it is of no consequence to me because I am not trying to impress anyone to get into office. I am simply trying to say that we missed our chance, we could have got rid of the Tories and Labour for five whole years. Instead, we find ourselves in a position to further distance ourselves from one another. Not only that but it would appear that too many people still don’t see that there is absolutely no difference which of the two main parties take the lead. The difference is in your head. I was accused the other day of wasting my vote by voting Lib Dem. I was told I should have voted Labour to ensure Conservatives did not get in.

What this person and the many like him don’t understand is that if you based your vote on anything other than policy then you wasted your vote. If you voted Labour to keep out Tory, or vice versa, you wasted your vote. This election provided us an unusual opportunity, and everyone who did not vote Liberal Democrat, for whatever reason, bottled it. Cameron promised change, and many people fell for it. Nick Clegg represented real change simply by being the third man in what is typically a two-man race, and we let it slip away. Congratulations. Enjoy the abyss, we are almost there.

Samantha Cameron has far too much face. It's massive. So big that David Cameron could store all his dumb ideas and still have room for his redundant ties.

Therefore, after much trepidation, the votes cast, counted, and checked. Many, many coffees consumed, washing down a healthy dose of fear. The results are in, and it is a tie. Which is funny when you think about it considering David Cameron, saviour of all the toffs and rich folks in this Country, never wore a tie in some transparent attempt to appear more like one of us.

A higher than expected number turned out to vote, in some cases there were not enough ballot papers for everyone, which is an absolute disgrace. Some people, when locked out of the polling stations after they shut at 10pm decided to strong arm the police and staff and not allow the box to be taken without their vote. In some cases, due to the high numbers, the stations actually locked voters in to try to get their vote in before the cut off. Have to love the Brits; they even do lock ins at polling stations.

The law suggests that while stations must close the doors at 10pm, anyone with a voting card can register their vote, as long as they are at the station by the cut off. Instead, the people running the polling stations took it upon themselves to deny taxpaying citizens their right to vote… Over a technicality. Beautiful. There is an argument that they had all day to vote, but the argument is easily trampled by the fact that as long as you are there by 10pm, you should be allowed to vote. It is no surprises that the news was filled with stories of sit ins, and ballot boxes being barricaded in by angry, would be, voters. Despite the apathetic vibe the public gave off towards this election, a huge number turned out. It was great to see…

May 7th, I would not be surprised if this became a day of mourning among Conservatives. A day they could have taken power if only they hadn’t put their faith in such a useless man. I think they could have wheeled out old Lady Thatcher, with her sieve-like memory and failing health and pulled more votes in Scotland than the Party did under Cameron, and we all know what that old hag did to Scotland. Despite finding myself surrounded by a sizable number of rosette wearing Tories last night at the local count, the results nationwide proved that there is no such thing as a Scottish Conservative… Now if we could just figure out a way to rid the rest of Britain of this backwards party for the rich, by the rich.

There were some nice surprises as well; the Green Party won their first seat in Parliament, taking Brighton Pavillion. The BNP didn’t do well at all, winning no seats, and leader Nick Griffin dropping to third in his constituency. I saw one BNP candidate getting punched on the TV in a strumasch… I’m not condoning random attacks, but it’s hard not to when the attacks are on such racist scumbags as BNP party members… They don’t like people who aren’t white, and I don’t like people who don’t like people who aren’t white… If that makes sense, I’m pretty sure there was an easier way to say that.

Nick Clegg, leader of Lib Dem has expressed his disappointment at his parties poor performance, despite a huge surge in popularity. He shouldn’t feel too disheartened, he ran a good campaign and the poor show at the polls came down to lack of balls on behalf of the voters. Plain and simple. Too many people voted tactically, when most would have at least toyed with the idea of voting Lib Dem, they bottled it last minute… One thing Clegg did win though was the battle of the wives Mrs. Clegg is hot… Not that she had much competition from Mrs. Brown, who has seen better days, and Samantha Cameron has far too much face. It’s massive. So big that David Cameron could store all his dumb ideas and still, have room for his redundant ties.

So, where does this all leave us, the voters? We have a hung parliament, and I’m guessing that will be the most Googled thing in the next couple of days… I’d actually like a number on that, I bet its massive. Well, you can count me in on that number, I Googled it and I’m not afraid to admit it. It is actually the fifth time in a couple of weeks I have Googled it and I still don’t really understand it, so I checked Wiki, and as usual that was more help. God I love Wikipedia. A hung Parliament, to those who don’t know, is when no one party has a majority of seats. In Britain’s case, it will more than likely result in a coalition Government… The Daily Mail is “reporting” a conspiracy to keep Cameron out of Downing Street, led by Brown and Clegg. We always have the worst conspiracy theories. Look at America, moon landings, Roswell, Area 51, JFK, Hoffa, Iraq the list goes on. We get a conspiracy to keep a toff out of office. It’s not fair. No aliens, no grassy knoll, no desert military base… Just rich folk disappointed at not getting richer.

The thing about backing an underdog is that you will be disappointed most of the time, being Scottish I could never bring myself to support the firm favourite, it’s a genetic thing. Too many people let others decide whom they voted for. Twitter was full of RTs from celebs telling the world they should be voting for whatever party they support, obviously forgetting momentarily that we live in a democracy, a democracy in which the only real say you have is your vote. By letting anyone dictate your decision, particularly celebrities, you are surrendering the one absolute freedom the UK Government allows you. You can’t do anything in this Country anymore, I’ll be damned if I’d let anyone tell me who to vote for, because what would the point be? Read the manifestos that are what they are there for, don’t read tabloids and make up your own mind… You would be as well staying at home watching reality TV, paying to vote for some idiot to win some competition that doesn’t matter… This says a lot about the type of person who would do a thing like that.

For the people who care, tomorrow is Election Day in the UK. For the people who do not, I am sure there will be a reality TV show on to make you that little bit denser, I find it funny that I refer to those people as if they would read a news website… They are probably reading Perez Hilton, or some equally idiotic trashy waste of oxygen. For everyone else, tomorrow is decision time.

I was too young to know what was happening in 1983, I was one year old, but it is widely regarded as one of the Labour Parties worst performances. Until this year, that is. Labour could have easily won this election if they had presented a unified front, even seeing other party members would have been enough, as it stands I cannot remember the last time I saw anyone other than Brown. They have thrown this election away, and as such left, us open to complete destruction by the Conservative Party. David Cameron is a dangerous man, either he is mentally retarded and believes his policies do anything other than kill off the poor and give more to the rich… Or he is a dangerous maniac who is completely aware of what he is doing. He is still proposing cutting spending to get out of the recession and instead of abolishing the boys club House of Lords, all of whom are unelected rich dicks in robes, he will fill it with his Reich and drain everything from everyone who can’t afford it.

You think this is funny, you should see the Thatcher puppet.

I was too young to know much about Thatcher at the time, but it does not take a genius to look back and see that what she did, Cameron is going to pay tribute to her. He will destroy whatever relationship we have left with Europe, because his party is one of bigots, homophobes and racists, and he will abolish the ‘seen in two weeks’ labour policy that lets you see a cancer specialist within two weeks, unless you are rich. A vote for Cameron and Conservative is not only a vote against every man, woman and child in the UK who isn’t lucky enough to be filthy rich, but it is a vote that proves you are an intolerant, blinkered, homophobe with racist tendencies and a distorted, outdated view on the classes, i.e. you are a classic Tory.

For a man who wants to be PM to stand up and tell the nation that he wants to save the economy by cutting spending is just so mind bogglingly dumb that I cannot comprehend it. Under a Conservative Government, we will be plunged back into recession and we will not recover for many, many years. I realise that all our problems stem from the current Labour Government, and Gordon Brown must face the music, but if you get your news from anything other than tabloids, you would know that Brown has pulled us out, slightly, but still it has improved. If you let Cameron take charge, within a year we will start to notice the Country disappear down the toilet. Unless you are rich. Then you will be fine, because the Conservative party love rich people. However, the rest of us are screwed.

The Conservatives propose a marriage tax. You will get a tax break if you get married. If you are a single mother, you will get less than a married couple, and if you don’t plan on getting married like myself, then the message from Cameron is that you are a second class citizen and you had better get used to it. Why should married couples get the breaks? Surely single parents deserve them more, particularly if you have one of those outlandish over the top weddings, you deserve no tax breaks if you have one of them. I feel like I have been shouting SCREW THE RICH throughout this article, but there is no other way to say it. If you spend any more than £5000 on a wedding then you don’t deserve a tax break. I’m not saying you shouldn’t spend it, it’s your life, your money… I am just saying if you have that kind of money to spend on your ego, you do not deserve a tax break that a single parent could use to bring up their child.

Blair was in the news today trying to salvage the Labour campaign, which is like the Conservative party dragging that horrid old boot Thatcher from whatever corner of hell she is currently waiting to die in and getting her to plead with the people she screwed over to stand by her party… This is yet another terrible decision by Labour, and one that will certainly lose them more votes than they will gain.

Vote for whom you want. But remember that this is the first time in generations that we have the chance to change a system that is so old that they relied on God to say “let there be light” to power the first House of Commons meeting, it really is a chance for change… Just not the change Cameron or Brown are hawking. In addition, it is not mindless rhetoric on behalf of the more liberal publications… Your vote really could make a difference; you have nothing to lose, if you are going into it knowing whom to vote for I envy you. If you made the decision quickly and without thought, I do not believe you.

Last week the Prime Minister of Great Britain was out on the campaign trail when he met a grandmother called Gillian Duffy who had some questions for the PM to reassure her that she should continue voting Labour, after a life of doing so.

Last week the Prime Minister of Great Britain was out on the campaign trail when he met a grandmother called Gillian Duffy who had some questions for the PM to reassure her that she should continue voting Labour, after a life of doing so. When she asked a question about immigration, Mr. Brown assured her that he would be talking about the subject that night in a speech… When the PM left the lady and got in his car, with his lapel mic still turned on, Mr. Brown can clearly be heard calling the woman a bigot.

Naturally, given the close proximity to the election, the media picked this up. Most publications slammed Mr. Brown for not only insulting a “wee old woman” but that his attitude proves that Labour do not take the immigration issue seriously enough. The question Gillian Duffy asked was “where are all these Eastern Europeans flocking from?” After the scandal became public, the spin doctors working for the PM claimed that Mr Brown has misheard the question and thought the lady had said a different F word that ends in KING, a natural mistake it would seem.

Not many papers have taken the PMs side on this, but I think I am going to. If this had happened at any time other than on the campaign trail it would have been brushed over, calling a woman a bigot isn’t a big deal and someone should really point out that this woman, when presented a chance to ask the PM a question, asked “where are all these Eastern Europeans… from”. I am no Geography expert. I failed higher Geography in fact. Nevertheless, the last time I checked, Eastern Europeans tend to hail from Eastern Europe. Only an idiot would ask a question like that. Therefore, a bigot she may be, an idiot she definitely is.

Dear Gillian Duffy, for your consideration, Eastern Europe.

The question she should have asked was “what are you going to do about the influx of immigrants who are here just for the free money”… That would have been a question to ask, Brown would still have called her a bigot, but at least she would not have come across as a brain dead idiot. Sadly, it is the way of things in Britain these days. Making a point about immigration tends to lead to people calling you a bigot or a racist… Much in the same way, as if you see an old man offering a child some sweets tends to make people think he is a paedophile. We have become a very paranoid and angry group of people… More so than we used to be… Within the next ten years it will be no surprise to see a lynch mob dragging a half-dead bigot or pervert through your town, because the “damned Government” are not doing enough.

I am a fan of vigilante justice. I am a big fan of Batman, and if Batman lived in my town I would definitely be on his side. But I think that if Batman was British, the public would hate him, and if he saved a child from a priest burning building, the media, and thus the public would call him a paedo and want him in jail, just because he helped a child that wasn’t his. I am a big advocate for the legalization of all drugs, but the more I consider the British public and their unparalleled paranoia, the more I think it might be a bad thing… Still utterly hilarious.

Gillian Duffy was a lifelong supporter of Labour, but she binned her polling card this year. Part of me is happy that she did not bow to the pressure to vote for Cameron, when she sold her story to the Mail on Sunday I thought that she would choose Cameron, but much to my surprise, she did not. On the flipside, throwing away your vote is very childish. I hate that voting is not mandatory, too many opinionated people don’t vote, blissfully unaware of their hypocrisy. Voters should get tax breaks, not married couples. I don’t plan on getting married (I don’t count it out, it is just not in my life plan) but I do plan on always using my vote because it is the only thing remotely democratic about Britain. The rest is just us being told what to do, say, wear, eat, love and pay.

We have less than a week to choose. Cameron, Clegg, or Brown. If you did not register to vote, then you don’t get to moan about anything… It is not that people will not hear your complaints, it’s just that by not voting you have expressed a desire to not be taken seriously, or acknowledged in any way whatsoever. It isn’t a personal thing; it is simply that you don’t care enough to take 30 seconds to tick a box, so why should anyone care about what comes out your mouth?

Which is true, if being an idiotic bigot is a race.

The Conservative shadow minister for defence has been sacked by David Cameron after bringing his party into yet another gay bashing scandal. The Conservatives, Cameron in particular, have been trying hard to make the public believe that the party is no longer full of homophobic closet cases… But the older, hardcore homophobic members of the party have been on a crusade to make sure that everyone knows that the party is prepared to make changes to move into the future… As long as, the change doesn’t involve them personally, especially not their views on homosexuality.

Julian Lewis: Homophobe.

Julian Lewis decided that this election campaign, in which his party have fallen in the opinion polls since last week’s debate, was the right time to announce that it is his belief that the age of consent for gay people should never have been lowered from 18 to 16, because (and this isn’t made up) it puts young gay people, boys in particular, in danger of contracting HIV. He then went on to compare the lowering of the age of consent to the proposed lowering of the age which one is able to fight for his or her country. Either way, it’s dangerous and he is just looking out for people.

It is a good thing that Cameron sacked him, obviously Dave did it to show that homophobia will not be tolerated in the new conservative movement, unless you are of importance. This is proven by the fact Chris Grayling still has a job despite backing homophobic religious guest house operators who turned away the business of a gay couple, based on their religious beliefs, the same religion that is currently involved in a global scandal because the priests like to have sex with little boys. Funny how it works, hypocrisy.

Mr. Lewis would do well to read a calendar; it is no longer the 80′s, despite what all Conservative party members and voters believe. His attitude is a relic of that decade, gay men have just as much chance of catching aids as anyone else… Including a conservative.

When asked what the hell he was thinking, Mr. Lewis said… “I do not hold myself up as any kind of expert in this and I am willing to be shown I’m wrong, but I honestly don’t think I am wrong. I think this is the case.” This ignorance is always going to rear its head in a Party who use our tax money to hire in expensive rent boys to deal with their suppressed homosexuality and to provide a stiff surface to snort drugs off of… Of course I have no proof to back that up… I do not hold myself up as any kind of expert in this, and I am willing to be shown I’m wrong, but I honestly don’t think I’m wrong. I think this is the case. See how that works?

Of course, it is no big shock when a Conservative comes out as a homophobe, it goes hand in hand with being a member or supporter of the party, and that is why they do so well in the polls. Conservative supporters/Daily Mail readers love a good moan about gays, immigrants, liberals, drug users, drug dealers, violent video games, porno movies, hoodies, the large hadrons’ Collider, science, evolution, wind farms, not being able to hunt foxes and the PC gone mad thing. They are professional idiots. In the same respect as parties like the BNP who hate people who are not white, they rally other idiots who believe that not only is there a difference between races, but that they represent the one true race. This is true, if being an idiotic bigot is a race.

I went on a short tour with a great band called Sucioperro (myspace.com/sucioperro) this weekend. Here is a short list of the things I missed while cooked up in the back of a van; the first ever live UK PM debate, a volcanic eruption so big that it grounded all flights, as I write this there are still no planes in the sky, and I missed the first episode of Charlie Brooker’s new TV show… This actually bothered me most.

North view of Eyjafjallajökull on 4 April 2010 - Max Haase

When Eyjafjallajokul went off last week I was in bed, as I always seem to be when something major happens, I was getting as much sleep as possible before tour… I awoke to messages about an incoming cloud of volcanic ash with no explanation as to where it was coming from, which caused me to jump out of bed and investigate because about two miles away from my house is a volcanic plug known as Aisla Craig… If this went off it would spell disaster for my (almost) seaside residence. Luckily the volcano in question was in Iceland, so I found it hard to care as Iceland recently faxed us a giant middle finger in regard to some money we loaned them to bail out their bank. The cloud continues to cause havoc, many Brits are stranded abroad and it shows no sign of relenting, it really rests on the volcano and if it decides to blow big again. While I sympathise with people stuck in airports with their screaming kids and no money, I also like the fact that Ryanair have lost money. I hate that company so much.

There have been noticeable changes to the British way of life over the years that have started morphing us into Americans: Fast food, Starbucks, stupidly big cars, drugs that do nothing for you, celebrity obsession, giant billboards on the side of our major roads, and now live televised debates between candidates. I was excited at the prospect, but then not that fussed when I realised I was missing it; I was on tour after all. The candidates on offer were PM Gordon Brown (labour), David Cameron (Conservative) and Nick Clegg (Liberal Democrat). Now, I have still to see the whole thing, but I read as much as I could and watched the “highlights” on the News. From what I could gather Cameron blew it. This came as no real shock because the man is a fully blown idiot who is incapable of independent thought. Give him a script and he will attempt to charm the pants off of you in his highly irritating and completely condescending way of addressing the public. Of course, even with a script he is able to make mistakes that only someone completely out of touch with reality could. A couple of months ago he claimed that 54% of girls under 18 were pregnant when it was really 5.4%, his party laughed off the media attention by claiming that it was a slip of the tongue when, in fact, it was just another point that proves he is completely clueless… Any other person would have thought that it was a dangerously high number… Imagine 54% of girls having children in the same year, we would sink to the bottom of the ocean.

As easy as it is to do, I am not going to make this a piece all about the many faults of David Cameron, because if you haven’t decided for yourself that he is completely incapable of running a country then you are not going to. All I can really do is be completely naive and put my faith in the public to see though his charade. Moving on to the PM Gordon Brown, the conservative media would have you believe that Gordon Brown is a liability and that he has not done his job right, but we have been moving steadily out of the recession since the end of the year and it is thanks to his ability to assess a situation, and not make dumb decisions like the Conservative idea of cutting spending. Brown may not be the most PR savvy candidate, but that is not a quality I would want in a leader. I want a politician. Unfortunately he represents a party full of coniving weasels who are intent on bleeding us dry and picking clean our bones.

Nick Clegg was the big surprise. He has jumped to the top in the opinion polls after his appearance on the live debate, and with his wide ranging list of progressive policies he has managed to secure a whole lot of new voters to his party. I for one will be voting Liberal Democrat, and I am urging others to do the same. I cannot see any reason to vote Labour or Tory other than people are used to voting for them. But where has it got us? Exactly, up the creek, without a paddle. There is no difference between the big two, if you still think there is then your vote is already lost. Neither has your interest at heart… Unless you are rich, then I understand why you vote for them, because they care about you, but only because you have money… No one else cares about rich people. And for good reason. Even Jesus hated rich people, and he liked lepers and whores.

If the Lib Dems pull off a truly amazing feat and actually win, then Nick Clegg has some policies which will change the country, real change. Change like streamlining the NHS, getting rid of the leeches in management and put the money back into the the nurses and doctors, there are some people sitting in offices doing nothing and being paid better than doctors. Most surprising is the Liberal Democrat stance on the drugs issue. Believe it or not if they win they will legalise marijuana, and more importantly they will actually listen to the scientists in the ACMD and not just force them to resign on a regular basis. The laws around drugs, cannabis in particular, are in no way related to the scientific findings and by reviewing the laws, Nick Clegg shows vision and a maturity that 1000 years of chopping and changing between the big two could never provide. To clarify if Lib Dem win they will legalise weed. I feel like no one is making a big enough deal of this. The only problem is getting people who really love smoking weed to get off the couch and vote; maybe the polling stations should have free cake.

I will admit that their chance is remote, but a Lib Dem win would change this country for the better. If you believe that David Cameron can provide the change you want then by all means vote for the homophobic relics that make up that disgusting party and in the same respect if you want another term of the thievery of the Labour party then vote Labour, it’s your vote after all. Keep in mind that the big tabloids don’t want a Lib Dem victory because they have no money invested in them, a vote for Lib Dem is not only a vote against the two dominant forces in British politics, but it is also a vote against that rubbery faced Australian villain Rupert Murdoch who for too long has been able to sway public opinion through his disgusting trashy rags.

Vote for whoever you want. I’ll be voting for better hospitals and less hypocritical drug laws.

The highly anticipated General Election 2010 in which, once again, the British public are forced to decide between the most undeserving, idiotic and utterly infuriating men possible, is due to be announced by the end of today. In celebration of this the Conservative Shadow Home Secretary, Chris Grayling, decided to alienate the very same gay community his Party are so intent on impressing by proving that The Conservatives really do hate gay people.

Only weeks after David Cameron made a fool of himself by taking part in an interview with Gay Times magazine in which he was shown to be the one thing he has maintained he isn’t. An old school homophobic Tory. Mr. Grayling announced that, based on religion, Bed and Breakfast owners should be allowed to discriminate against gay couple, despite it being illegal.

His stated position is that while it is illegal for hoteliers to discriminate against any person for race, religion or sexual orientation, the same rules shouldn’t apply to Bed and Breakfast owners because it is their home and they should be allowed to discriminate against whomever they desire. Then someone with a brain rightly pointed out that if you are a racist, or a homophobe, or have any sort of prejudice then you should probably stay away from working with the public, and you certainly shouldn’t turn your home into a guest house, you would be as well surrounding yourself with other like-minded idiots… Get a job in the Conservative Party.

Mr. Grayling wanted to make sure that everyone knows that he is not opposed to gay rights, and would not be trying to get the law changed, but he feels it is important to respect the beliefs of people with faith… I would just like to clarify to any British readers who are hopefully planning on voting in the coming election, the Conservative party not only feel they need to say that they won’t take away gay rights, but that they accept blind faith in something that may or may not exist, but are completely against something that does absolutely exist and is practiced by not only gay men and women up and down the country, but it is practiced throughout their church with their trusted heavenly priests who love nothing more than sodomizing children, even the Pope is in on the action… So you can’t be a Christian and be against homosexuality, it’s a new rule that came in since the Pope was proven to be a sinner who looked the other way when he knew this was going on… Now find something else to moan about…

Being someone who would never think things were bad enough to warrant voting for such a despicably intolerant party, I will never have a Tory vote on my conscience… I can’t say that Labour or Lib Dem are any better, but at least Gordon Brown doesn’t hate gay people like David Cameron does, and Browns men wouldn’t go on record (whether he knew it or not) and claim that believing in something spiritual or religious gives you the right to discriminate against another human being because of their sexual orientation… It is 2010, surely that kind of disgusting attitude is best left in the days when it was common practice for hotels and guest houses to put signs on the window stating ‘no gays, no blacks, no Irish and no dogs’… I should point out that it was during a Tory Government that those signs were in place.

David Cameron certainly isn’t the sharpest tool in the box, but he is the biggest and most infuriating.

Gordon Brown has been accused of being a big bad bully. The founder of The National Bullying Helpline which has been shown to be nothing more than a front for this disgusting woman, Christine Pratt, to fleece money from people who are in need of help after being bullied.

What she lacks in dress sense, she makes up for in biscuits.

Christine Pratt is a career claimer, a con artist, so it is a surprise that she is making such headlines. Although when you are talking about the Tory Party paying someone to throw half-cooked BS at the public in a sad attempt to save their failing campaign… Nothing should be a surprise. According to Christine Pratt, “3 or 4” people who work in Downing Street have phoned over the “last few years” to complain that Brown has shouted at them. I think if we are going to level accusations at the PM, we should have a little more than the crazy, vague accusations of some bitter old hag in the employment of the Conservative Party, who seem to be trying to be more despicable with the printing of every new headline.

There have been a number of supporters coming out in defence of the PM, and with the general perception in the media being that having a PM who isn’t afraid to shout at people who are not pulling their weight is preferable to, say, someone like David Cameron who, it would appear, has never shouted at anyone in his life, because that might prevent people from becoming his friend.

Immigration Minister Phil Woolas has spoke out against Christine Pratt, calling her a “prat of a woman”… It’s unclear if he was trying to be funny. Gordon Browns wife has also jumped to his defence, claiming “what you see is what you get”.

I am not usually one for defending Gordon Brown, but seeing as it is getting closer to the elections (still no date) and as there is absolutely no chance of any other party doing anything to upset the race, we have to chose between Brown and Cameron. This should not be a choice… Not for anyone with half a brain anyway. Cameron has sabotaged his own campaign from the start by being a completely detestable, sickening little weasel. His tactics are shallow and utterly transparent. From the disgusting photo op at a soldiers grave, to the crocodile tears on TV, to this latest attempt at smearing Gordon Brown. This is how he failed this time…

…Cameron chose the wrong woman to take a moral high ground on Brown, Pratt is out to get paid, and she is doing well in that respect. He also chose an argument that would prove one thing, that Brown is a better leader because who would want a leader who thinks that shouting at staff is wrong? I certainly don’t, I don’t want my leader to be one of these PC lunatics. Being able to shout at people below you is one of the driving factors when climbing to the top job in your profession, and if you think that I’m wrong then you wouldn’t make a good leader, you would make the worst kind of leader.

The Conservative Party were quick to dismiss claims that Mrs Pratt is a “party stooge”, which is convenient, they have never told the truth once in their history, so I would have been shocked had they started now. It does seem as if they are running out of ideas, I certainly wouldn’t try and discredit a political leader by pointing out to the world that he is strong and opinionated, that seems like the last thing you would want to point out… But it is the Conservative party we are talking about, and David Cameron certainly isn’t the sharpest tool in the box, but he is the biggest and most infuriating.
