Phoenix, AZ (July 28) – Earlier today, a federal court judge blocked portions of Arizona’s Immigration law, as protestors lined busy streets, highways, and overpasses around the nation.

U.S. District Court Judge Susan Bolton ruled two parts of the controversial immigration law requiring police to determine immigration status of people they encounter on the highways and byways of Arizona as well as, charging persons not carrying immigration documentation with a crime, to cease and desist their actions immediately.

In her opinion, Judge Bolton wrote, “The federal government’s ability to enforce its policies and achieve its objectives will be undermined by the state’s enforcement of statutes that interfere with federal law.”

The order was issued just as large groups of organized protestors gathered in Los Angeles preparing to travel to the Phoenix area on Thursday; the date Arizona’s statute 1070 was to become law. Officials in Arizona were bracing for possible violence and other disrupted activities beginning Thursday and to last for an unknown period of time, associated with the massive planned protests.

The Obama administration had already filed legal action to reverse the state’s decision on the opinion that only the federal government has jurisdiction over these matters.

Sherriff ‘Joe’, the legendary wannabe cowboy of the old mid-west had already planned to expand his outdoor tent jail facility to hold those in violation of the state’s new immigration law. The Sherriff plans on dubbing his new section of the prison, Camp 1070.

It is unknown at this time whether organizers of the scheduled protests, plan to continue with their nationwide campaign at this time. The law in general is to go into effect tomorrow as scheduled however, lacking the two most controversial components of the new law.

Stories of unsolved murders have long been a subject of great books and movies, most of the time these stories are of killers you probably heard of at school, or on the news or, indeed, other movies or books.  The most famous would be the likes of the Zodiac Killer and Jack the Ripper, both of these killers shared one major thing, neither was ever caught.

Theories abound, Jack the Ripper worked for the Queen killing prostitutes working in Whitechapel who knew of an illegitimate heir to the throne born of a tryst between Prince Albert and an local whore.  Some believe it was Albert himself wielding the knife.  After over 100 years and still no real leads, I have resigned to never knowing, or living under the assumption that the Royal Family knew then, know now and continue to cover it up.

Zodiac… Badass.

While Jack the Ripper is an English tale, Zodiac is American lore.  Credited with starting the old killer messes with the cop’s routine, Zodiac was a west coast killer who would write letters and ciphers demanding they be published in the paper.  Jack the Ripper did it first.  However, a lot of the Ripper letters are regarded as fakes.  Although one or two are thought to be real by true Ripperologists, in particular the From Hell package containing part of a human kidney, the other part ‘Saucy Jack’ ate.

The Zodiac Killer hunted humans, and for a long time was believed to be a man called Arthur Leigh Allen, DNA says otherwise, but again, we will probably never know.  This is the reason we become drawn to these stories, particularly after some time has passed, the mystery.

There is such a mystery in Scotland.  The story of Bible John is one that almost every West Coast Scot knows; it is the story of murder at what is now Scotland’s best Venue, the Barrowlands.

Back in the day the Barrowlands in Glasgow was a dance hall, today it is the only decent large live music venue in the country.  Bible John frequented this “den of iniquity” as he called it, and it is where he found his 3 known victims, all of whom were menstruating, and all were strangled with their own stockings.  He was given the name Bible John after he was heard talking about the bible, and sin, etc. the war cry of the religious maniac.

Much like the Zodiac case, the police in charge of the Bible John case have a prime suspect, but a lack of solid evidence makes it impossible to make an arrest.

In 2006 the body of Polish student Anjelika Kluk was found under the floor of a church in Paisley, fingers pointed straight at the creepy handyman who blew in to town not long before the grisly discovery.  The name he gave was Pat McLaughlin, his real name was Peter Tobin, a man with a dark past filled with suspicious deaths, child abuse and prison

He was found guilty of the young Polish student’s murder and sentenced to 21 years in prison, once found guilty the Police started digging in his known previous addresses; evidence gathered from these digs linked him to the murders of Dinah McNicol and Vicky Hamilton.  He was charged with these murders and will now die in prison.

It was not long before reporters and the police started putting pieces together and noticed similarities between Tobin’s M.O and that of Bible John.  Not only that but the artists impression of Bible John could easily be a young Tobin, who lived in a house that had access to a back lane where one of Bible Johns victims was discovered.

On the surface Tobin is a fit for Bible John, he certainly shares the same evil tastes.  Naturally, he is not saying much in the way of a confession, but if we have learned anything about serial killers in UK is that they love to bury the evidence where they live, a move I have never fully understood.  Fred and Rose West buried so many bodies in their foundations that I am surprised the house did not collapse.

Serial killers are the rock stars of the criminal world, by that I mean you wouldn’t want to spend time with one.  The actions of these mad men and women are disgusting and tragic, such a disregard for human life is something us regular folks could never comprehend.  Although, in saying that do you think Mary Kelly would think, while up some dirty alley way in Victorian London having sex with a disgusting drunk, that she would not only be remembered over 100 years later, but portrayed in Hollywood movies.  Obviously not, Hollywood movies had not been invented at the time, but you get my drift.  She became famous because someone (possibly Royal) did this to her.

Tobin may only ever admit to three killings, but the advancements in DNA and forensics alongside his known habits, burying bodies and evidence in “secure” places could lead to his downfall very soon.  The police are digging and are sure to find something to tie him to the Bible John killings, if indeed he is the 60′s killer who is also credited with 3 killings.  The exact number of people killed by Tobin and Bible John may never be known.

Copycat killers do not count due to a lack of originality.  Like cover bands.

To begin with, the Scottish Government released al-Megrahi, and the Scottish Government does not apologize for it or regard it as a mistake, and neither should they.

The main argument seems to be that it is disrespectful to the families of the victims on both sides of the Atlantic, but believe it or not there are people from the village of Lockerbie who never agreed with the verdict, including the man who was the local priest at the time who had the job of burying the dead residents, all of whom residents in the very street he lived on.

Naturally everyone is entitled to their opinion, but Cameron telling the Yanks it was a “mistake” is confusing, the Scottish Government stands by its decision to release al-Megrahi, and in no way apologizes for it.  This subject was covered in last week’s edition of Question Time, and Nicola Sturgeon Deputy First Minister of Scotland made that perfectly clear.

Regardless of what a doctor who was not involved with the original prognosis has to say on the subject, guessing how long a terminal patient has to live is not an exact science, it’s not even a science, it is guesswork.  America knows all about making rash decisions based on guesswork, their entire foreign policy for the duration of the Bush Administration was completely based on guesswork.

The rest of the World should really trust the Scots more.  It is not as we are some egotistical nation who have contributed nothing but take credit for everything.  It’s the complete opposite A Scot has been on the forefront of progress since the beginning.

I have actually written something very similar to this on a different site, albeit with slightly more colourful language, back when al-Megrahi was released and Obama was shouting for a boycott of Scottish produce.  A boycott I backed, but I felt there was no room for being meticulous.  Why not go the whole hog and boycott everything that Scotland has given the world, and that list is so long and so full of things still in use today that boycotting it would result in a quick trip back to the dark ages.

Highlights of which include; anesthetics, penicillin, tarmac, Halloween, fridges, microwaves, iron bridges, the telephone, the television and my personal favorite, The US Navy.

So while many people across the globe think of Scots as clans of men in kilts who live in castles and spend their days either fighting for freedom or roaming the glen (wend not releasing dangerous criminals willy-nilly).  They do not, but you think that because of the Stereotype, another thing to thank the Scots for.

David Cameron can call it what he wants, but his reasons are as transparent and self-serving as always.  He has taken the side of America over Scotland, not that we should be in any way surprised given his position, and his party’s history regarding relations with his neighbors to the north.  He should treat them a little better since Scotland has all the oil, and all the crazy kilted lunatics.

An inquiry may well appease the people who have read about this in the newspapers but it is not as he will be re-arrested, no matter your opinion on the subject Abdebaset al-Megrahi will die a free man, whenever he actually dies. Seeing as the only person, I know who actually lived through the hell of that night in Lockerbie not only thinks al-Megrahi was innocent, but also he campaigned for his release at great cost both professionally and personally, that is enough for me.

I find myself agreeing with a Government decision for once.  Which is a problem as I’m sure you can imagine.

Rather than take the victory of getting rid of an idiot, there are calls to spend actual money on an inquest into his death, monies that could be spent on things of importance.  His family and friends are now shocked and disturbed at the death of their little Raoul, his brother in particular has been in the papers talking about how hurt he is, and how compensation would help, despite not having seen his murdering psychopathic brother in 7 years.

The big question being asked in the inquest is did the tasers fired by the police make the gun go off. Before too much money is spent on answering this pointless question, I would like to chime in with my 2 cents, who cares?  Really, does it matter?  The person shot three people, one of them died.  Another, a police officer, might never see again because Moat shot him in the face…  Who cares how the gun went off…?  The important thing is that it did go off.

There is a facebook page dedicated to the “legend” Raoul Moat, if he was such a legend then why is he missing part of his head?

References to his “problems” are understandable; drugs do make some people go mad.  Some people online have blamed the entire thing on women in general, and insist that had there been a women officer with a gun Moat should have shot her…  I am sure it makes sense in the head of the idiot who said it.

Others are quick to pass it off as a mistake, one that anyone could make, “I don’t think he was evil or a bad person…” said one misinformed reader of the Daily Mail, who misses the point completely, good and evil does not come into it.  Being a murdering psychopath is the only real issue.  Had he just been a nutter with a gun then I’m sure I would feel differently.  But he shot three people, one died, he threatened the cops and the public, wasted time and money, yet people think he is some sort of victim or anti-hero?

The fact that he outwitted the police and SAS for one week is amusing in a depressing sort of way.  Anti-hero might be the wrong choice of words, but you get the point.  It is a natural reaction to take the side of the villain against the police, have some taste though; this person shot unarmed people and hid in a drain for a week, hardly a criminal genius.

Where were these people when the police executed Jean Charles De Menenez?  More than likely sitting in the pub letting racial profiling, and murder slide.

I am sure the inquest will be ongoing, pointless and utterly enthralling for anyone who thinks you can get news from Sky News.

While responding to a disturbance on the that day, Mehserle stated he thought he was drawing his Taser to fire rather than his 40-caliber service revolver to, which Oscar Grant took a fatal wound to the back.

The verdict of involuntary manslaughter by the all white jury indicates Mehserle was criminally negligent in his actions.

In response to the convictions, riots broke out in Oakland as protestors took advantage of the decision surrounding the tragic death of Oscar Grant III, to damage, destroy, and loot local businesses in the downtown area.  The windows of a Footlocker were smashed by the protestors to which sneakers were thrown at police in riot-gear sent in with tear-gas to disperse the mourners of the victim.

Police state, 73 persons were arrested Thursday night as the riots broke-out. The arrests ranged from failure to disperse, resisting arrest, burglary, vandalism, and assaulting a police officer. A very unusual manner in which to express the sadness of the passing of Oscar Grant III. Thursday’s riots did appear to be a scaled version of the riots that followed his death.

The shooting captured on cell phones, lacking any audio gave a grainy view of the shooting but failed, to show the trouble that led up to the Transit Officers being called to the scene. The entire tragic incident occurred as officers were responding to a call of fighting, and violence both onboard the BART and on the trains platform leading up to the shooting. The officers were not involved prior to making the arrests and were attempting to quell the disturbance.

The facts in the case according to transcripts of the trial, Grant had been involved in a fight on the Dublin-bound train and alleged he had resisted arrest following a routine traffic stop in 2006. During a multi-million dollar civil rights lawsuit, an accomplice of Grants on the night of the shooting admitted in court that he had lied about Grant’s involvement in a fight on the train moments before the shooting. The accomplice also stated that Mehserle instructed Grant to remain on the ground or he would be tased.

The guilty verdict on involuntary manslaughter charges carries a maximum sentence of up to four years in prison under California statutes. Because a firearm was involved allows the judge more flexibility in the sentencing. Mehserle will be sentenced August 6, 2010 and only time will tell if supporters of the departed will turn to the streets to destroy, and rob innocent storeowners property in revenge in some form of tribute to Oscar Grant III.

Apparently, the citizens of Oakland are taking out revenge on innocent store-owners, and public property as they are unhappy with the verdict handed down yesterday regarding the shooting. Dozens of arrests have been reported on both Thursday and Friday related to this verdict.

Police in riot gear and out in force, dispersed the angry intercity mobs as they ransacked stores, and tore through the city in heated revenge.

Oakland city officials were preparing for anticipated riots as Oakland citizens took to the streets following the shooting death of Oscar Grant III,  in the days following the incident burning and looting only to stop breaking the law after the Transit police officer was arrested. Civil disobedience seems to work hand-in-hand against authority in these larger communities once a violent minority of the population becomes disgruntled.

Reports indicate some sort of a homemade bomb was used during last night’s gathering of the friendly citizens of Oakland to express their unhappiness regarding the verdict of former transit police officer, Mr. Mehserle.

A cell phone video of the shooting, minus the audio was used as evidence during the trial, and released all over the internet giving justification to mobs of Oakland citizens to destroy innocent shopkeepers, and public properties both before the trial, and after the verdict.

Prior to the verdict, and in anticipated violent response following the verdict, Oakland City officials sent city workers home early, to avoid being caught-up in the mayhem known to precede these types of verdicts in California. The city police department had been practicing anti-riot procedures, and coordinating with local agencies to deal with civil unrest.

In defense of the cities residence, Oakland City officials had stated that early violence was the result of outside influence in which hundreds of people had been arrested.

Angry protesters ignored a plea for calm from Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, and immediately began looting stores.

The victim’s family expressed disappointment in the verdict, reduced to manslaughter by an all white jury in Los Angeles. The trial was moved to Los Angeles after the riots that broke out following the shooting knowing the alleged would be incapable of finding an unbiased jury in Alameda County.

During a press conference, Oakland Police Chief, Anthony Batts stated, “This city is not the wild, wild west. This city will not tolerate this activity,” adding “We started taking a number of rocks and bottles. We then made a dispersal order.” Batts also referenced outside influence stating anarchists had a hand in all of this.

The defendant, Mehserle is to be sentenced next month and could receive up to 14 years in prison. Rest assured, if the former Transit Police Officer does not get the maximum, the friendly citizens of Oakland would once again be out on the streets breaking every law in the books to express their dissatisfaction.

So far Moat has killed one person, his ex-girlfriends new partner Chris Brown, he also shot and injured his ex-girlfriend Sam Stobbart, and a policeman, both of whom are recovering in hospital.

In the past few days, the police have followed a string of clues left across the countryside by the deranged muscleman.  First they found his car, abandoned not far from a secluded area where they found a tent which Moat had been using as his HQ, there they found a new letter, this one addressed to Miss Stobbart but equally rambling as his 49 page novel that he wrote to the police.

The police have now brought in help from someone claiming to know the former doorman, and who claims to have a knowledge of places Moat is likely to be hiding, the informant could seen yesterday behind what looked like a poor man’s Testudo Formation as they maneuvered the countryside setting.

Mr. Moat has been on the run since his shooting spree one week ago on 1 July; the same day he left prison.

In a strange turn of events, two men, previously thought to have been taken hostage by Moat, have been charged with conspiring to commit murder.  Karl Ness and Qhuram Awan were found wandering down a country road armed.  It is alleged that Ness was with Moat when he shot Sam Stobbart and her new partner Chris Brown.

After almost one week of searching, and still no sign, it would appear that Moat has either slipped the ring (so to speak), killed himself or has managed to “go Rambo” and has rigged the Forrest with traps.  There have been calls from Miss Stobbarts family for Moat to give himself up, and assertions from Moats own mother that he would be better off dead.  I am not sure how they expect Moat to hear their calls as he was living in a tent until the police put a stop to that and is now, more than likely, living in a tree/hole somewhere.

The BBC News paraded pictures of Moat as a child and asked, “What could turn this child into a maniac?”…  Steroids and ego.  The same thing that makes all bodybuilders go mad.

Northumbnailria,  (Jul 5) - A gunman who is thought to have shot his ex and killed her lover has apparently sent a 49 page handwritten letter in which he passes the blame onto one of the victims and declares war on the local police.  He has assured the Northumbnailria police that he is not intending to kill members of the public, only officers in uniform.

The police have not yet confirmed that the letter came from, or was even written by the suspect Raoul Moat.  It seems a safe assumption however.  In the letter Moat (37) claims to have customised his ammo so that the cartridge used against his former lover Samantha Stobbart would only wound her, leaving her scarred for life, but giving her the chance to claim compensation.  He did no such favours for Stobbart’s new beau, who Moat shot in the head and killed.

Bodybuilder Moat had stayed out of sight beneath an open window at the home of Samantha where he claims to have listened to her and her new lover insult Moat for 90 minutes before deciding that he’d had enough and decided to shoot them.  Although he used customised ammo to ensure his ex lover survived, she is still critical in hospital and Moat has announced via his letter that he does regret hurting her and if the doctors do not save her, he will kill them too, no pressure.

To declare war on an entire police force is a rash move.  His chances of surviving much longer are slim, having already shot, injuring PC David Rathband, a photo of whom has been released today, covered in blood and lying in hospital. The police, I am sure will not be looking for an arrest, at least they should not be.

Naturally, none of this is his fault it is his ex girlfriends.  She did this, and the fact that he is a steroid abusing meathead with no grounding in reality has absolutely nothing at all to do with it.  His hatred for the police has come from his belief that Samantha left him for a police officer, and that they had asked her to spy on him.

As it stands at the time of writing, Moat is still on the run, despite his assurance that he is not on the run, as much as he is just on a cop-killing spree and that he is only hunting them because they have spent years hunting him.  He is on the run though and I would suggest looking in places with lots of heavy things for him to lift and loads of mirrors for him to look at himself while he lifts heavy things, because nothing is cooler than lifting heavy things.  It is what makes you a man, it means you can wear tight clothes and live under the assumption that everyone thinks you are awesome.

Eagle Pass, TX (Jul 2) – More than 2,000 pounds of marijuana was intercepted by U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officers today concealed in ceramic bricks.

A Freight-liner tractor pulling a flatbed loaded with what appeared to be ceramic bricks, driven by a  42-year-old driver Mexican Citizen, was order to a secondary inspection station at the Eagle Pass Port of Entry after the drivers manifest was inspected. CBP officers and a canine unit “Tex”, began a cursory search of the cargo when Tex, alerted the officers to the presence of narcotics.

A non-intrusive imaging system was then used to examine the suspected cargo resulting in abnormalities within the bricks. CBP Officers then shattered open the ceramic bricks locating 2,100 packages containing 2,489 pounds of marijuana. The ceramic bricks containing the marijuana worth an estimated $2,489,000 on the streets, was seized. The case was then referred to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents for further investigation.

“This significant bulk seizure of marijuana can be attributed to the vigilance, dedication and technological resources CBP officers utilize in clearing commercial shipments,” said Cynthia O. Rodriguez, port director, Eagle Pass. “Their efforts in securing our borders also help keep these drugs off the streets.”

In another unrelated incident, more than $5 million dollars worth of marijuana was seized at the Laredo, Texas Port of Entry at the World Trade International Bridge.

An International tractor pulling a 2000 Stick chassis with a container driven by a 44-year-old Mexican citizen from Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas was referred for secondary examination. An intense search of the contents of the container located 164 bundles of marijuana comingled amongst the cargo. The haul netted 5,283 pounds of marijuana with an estimated street value of over $5.2 million.

“Our officers are committed to the CBP mission of securing the nation’s borders while facilitating legitimate trade,” said Gene Garza, port director, Laredo, Texas. “Subsequently, their hard work and dedication results in the seizure of significant bulk loads of drugs such as this one.”

Boston, MA (May 13) – The FBI has executed search warrants, in New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts, seeking further clues to the failed car bombing in Times Square.

A search in Brookline, Massachusetts located at a Mobile Gas Station on Harvard Street where a gray four-door sedan was being searched had agents swarming the area in earlier hours with no information released regarding discovery of evidence, nor what agents hoped to fine.

In addition, a home in Watertown, Massachusetts was raided with reports of computer equipment, cash, and documentation being removed. The individual at the residence was scene removed in shackles.

Information gathered from Faisal Shahzad’s cooperation with authorities has led to the detention of two other individuals for what appears to be immigration violations at this time. Authorities state the two individuals have no direct ties to the incident in Times Square but happen to be “collateral” according to spokespersons.

Details regarding the additional search warrants are unavailable due to an ongoing investigation according to the United States Attorney office however, CBS reports that the raids involve targeting money remitters, the money trail, and do not necessarily point to any co-conspirators in the case.
