Las Vegas, NV (Mar) Considered to be the most important pizza industry event held annually, the 21st International Pizza Expo was held at The Las Vegas Convention Center from March 8-10, 2016. Exhibitors from all over the world showcased their distinctive pizza making ingredients and pizza making methods. Over 10,000 attendees sampled some of the best pizza, and explored the show room floor for the latest in equipment to boost their business. Seminars and panel discussions helped owners with the tools to increase their sales and improve their pizzeria.
Pizza Crust Boot Camp, sponsored by General Mills, held a two day seminar featuring the company’s research covering ingredient functionality and basic dough formation. “If you don’t have a good crust for your pizza, you don’t have a quality, great-tasting pizza.” Several seminars covered pizza delivery and menu tactics to increase sales to the rapidly changing customer expectations.
The Expo featured several pizza dough mixes like McClancy’s signature dough blend. Exhibitor Amoroso Baking featured their Thaw & Serve Fully-Baked Grab n’Go breads and rolls. The show floor also gave attendees distinctive products to sample like Bon Appe Nutella® poppers, inspired by the famous beignet pastries from New Orleans’ French Quarter. The poppers are stuffed with the world famous Nutella® hazelnut spread, sweet & spicy apple & cinnamon, or pure cinnamon. They are all Kosher and trans fat free.
What’s a pizza without cheese? Exhibitor Hofmeister® displayed their imported cheese and butter blend, a silky and rich blend of high quality cheeses and fine butter. It’s an excellent choice in hot applications to be added to soups, pizzas, pasta, or a base for creamy desserts. Milano’s® is a fast growing Italian cheese company, specializing only in Italian hard cheese.
