Sydney, NSW (May) The Naturally Good 2015 Expo was held May 3-4, 2015 at the Royal Hall of Industries, Moore Park, Sydney NSW. There’s a growing demand for all things natural and organic as shoppers are becoming more educated about the benefits of eating healthier. Naturally Good Expo is the first exhibition in Australia that’s 100% devoted to supporting and fueling the natural and organic products trade. Over 180 exhibitors showcased their products including retailers, food service buyers, health practitioners, wholesalers, distributors, importers, exporters and manufacturers with a forum designed to connect, educate, enlighten and inform. This Expo was the natural place for a healthy business.

Event highlights included networking parties and seminar programs including “Food Intolerances and Allergies.” Australia has one of the highest food allergy prevalence rates in the world. It is thought that around 1 in 4 of the Australian population has food intolerance with 1 in 20 children having a food allergy, and 1 in 70 Australians are affected by celiac disease. This seminar explained how health food shops and other food retailers are in a unique position to offer the kind of foods these people are looking for and that they can incorporate into their diet that meet their food sensitivity needs. A dietitian explained the difference between food allergies and intolerances, and covered non-celiac gluten sensitivity and the low FODMAP diet for IBS and digestive problems.

Are you brave enough to be part of the protein revolution? Edible Insects are the future of food, and the seminar “Gateway Bugs: Edible Insects for Health and Nutrition” was the place to learn why edible insects are the next super food. Edible insects can help save the planet and we should all be eating more bugs.
