Wautoma, WI (Aug 2013) – Your first experience entering Edenwood Ranch and Preserve, formerly Little Tex Hunts, is that you are aware of the level of privacy and security at the ranch. Hearty gourmet meals are provided daily in the lodge, and if you want a picnic, Ashley will pack one for you. The accommodations are elegant, comfortable, and immaculate. Wake up to deer and elk grazing just outside your window.
Evenings are pleasant for guests who want to relax at the fire pit with a glass of wine and watch the sunset. Deer, elk and horses graze in the pastures at the edge of the woods adding to the Edenwood evening experience.
Edenwood is family friendly and guests can interact with the animals, but maybe a little too close for one guest. He was forced over the fence by “Mr. Elk” when he entered the elk’s territory. Ed, big game hunter, with wife Jackie, was out for an evening walk at the trails when they encountered Mr. Elk guarding his territory. Ed, attempting to wave Mr. Elk away with his hat, underestimated just how territorial Mr. Elk was. Mr. Elk bugled, chased Ed over the fence, marked his territory, and then moved back to the edge of his woods and sharpening his antlers, made it clear that it was his territory. The entire experience was a joy for Jackie who video recorded the entire slow speed chase.
For hunters; whitetail deer, trophy fallow, and elk populate the 500 acres where each hunter can request a customized hunt with a private guide. Edenwood is known worldwide for their hunting with more than 1000 highest quality wildlife. Edenwood is a member of the Safari Club International (SCI) and a big supporter with hunts and vacations donated to local chapters and to the national convention. Members bid with the proceeds going back to SCI where they are distributed to the support of protecting hunting and promoting conservation.
