SEMA Show Press Release, Maxx2Racing Updates

Monday, Nov 14th – Well, the SEMA Show was all everyone said it would be, and much, much more. Every automotive vehicle you could think of was on display, along with hundreds of vendors with their products. You could spend a month at this show, and still not see everything.

In the planning stages for months, The Royal Purple Maxx2Racing ‘Bad Bird’ LSR Race Car was set to make its appearance at the show, with Judy and myself leaving early Saturday morning to be in line the next morning. We arrived early Sunday at the designated location, and were at the convention center before 9:00 AM. The car was in its place before noon, and we went about cleaning, and adding Roll Cage padding in various locations to clean up the interior.

Monday was spent finally meeting Dane (Buckley), Account Executive with Point Imaging, http://www.pointimaging.com/, Hobart, Indiana, the company who sponsored the wrap for the car. Dane, an avid race car ‘Nut’ as we like to call ourselves, made the decisions a couple of months ago to wrap the car at the show, and furnished the best available from the 3M Company. Thanks again Dane for making this a great success despite all the odds being against us up to the last few days before the show.

SSS "Wrapped"

Shareef Khan, SSC-SS Customs, Redwood City, CA, arrived early mid-morning, and worked his professional touches on the installation of the new Royal Purple colors of the wrap for the car. Shareef and his co-worker ‘Johnson’ also installed all of the decals/logos from the sponsors on the car. The car turned out awesome to say the least for a “Full Bore Race Car”, as we had no intention of making the car something it wasn’t.

The Maxx2racing Team demands the best from themselves, their sponsors, their affiliations, and their own goals, nothing less. You will see in our main racing website that we have assembled a team of ‘Professionals’ who are experts in their particular automotive/racing fields.

Those show in the multiple records set over the past 17+/- months, as the car set records at every LSR event it entered. The RP ‘Bad Bird’ was built to go very, very fast, setting those records from Mojave, CA, to Maxton, NC, to Loring, Maine. Yes, the car has traveled thousands of miles, noting that one must not be limited to one geographical area alone.

Now, the team and the car enter their next phase, that being, obtaining additional records in 2012 at the Mojave Mile, the new ECTA events, the LTA Loring events, and that ultimate goal of setting the speed mark for a Nascar Bodied car at the famed Bonneville Salt Flats.

We have accomplished each and every goal we have set for this car, only missing running the car at the Bonneville Salt Flats, something that most know was beyond our control. Take a few minutes out of your busy schedules to view the main page of our main website, and you will see the accomplishments this very special LSR Race Car has achieved, including being part of being driven by one of the top drivers in Land Speed Racing, David Haas, to set the record for most 200 LSR Clubs, an envious accomplishment in itself. David is also a member of the ‘Prestigious’ 300 MPH Club at Bonneville, running the Haas Streamliner.
