News Of The World Hacking Scandal: Part 12.

UK tabloid News Of The World has been at the center of a phone hacking scandal for what seems like an eternity. Until now, it has been politicians, celebs, and sports stars who have been the victims of hackers. Naturally, tapping anyone’s phone for the purposes of scandal searching is despicable, but it is what you come to expect from British tabloids.

Yesterday Twitter seemed to light up with people slamming the tabloid in question because rumours started to circulate that they had tapped into the voicemail of murdered teenager Millie Dowler while she was missing.

The details are sparse as to the reason anyone would have for hacking into a missing girl’s voicemail. Rebekah Brooks, the boss of News International, the group who publishes The News Of The World, was the editor of the paper at the time of Millie’s disappearance. She has stated clearly that she knew nothing about it, and most certainly did not give the go-ahead. She described the scandal as “almost too horrific to believe.”

While Prime Minister David Cameron called the allegations “Truly dreadful”.

What purpose hacking a missing person’s phone would serve is unclear, maybe I am missing something, but in respect to the ongoing allegations that the News Of The World get the majority of their stories in this manner, they deserve to burn. From the Editor downwards. We would not lose anything by destroying that paper, it is a sick, disgusting piece of propaganda for idiots. If we have learned, anything in the last 11 years is that a problem isn’t quite such a big deal until a tabloid tells the general public that it is a problem… Then all hell breaks loose.
