Nevada (Aug 21) – In a state with troubles unlike most in the Union, rampant unemployment, poor education, and an economy that relies on the country and the world in order to make any rebound, it is without a doubt that Sharron Angle is just too much for Nevada to comprehend in its state of emergency.
Most recently, stories have been surfacing about the would-be runner for the Nevada Senate seat, against Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, and her intense dislike of the color black.
Harkening back to her days of school board fun, Sharron Angle was instrumental in ensuring a local high school did not fall victim to the lures of the devil. When a debate about the color of football jerseys arose, Angle make it positively clear that black was evil and a sign of Satan.
Honestly, you could not make this stuff up.
Positive in her religious beliefs that black is a sure sign of Satan, Angle was able to convince the rest of the school board that allowing the use of black football jerseys would be an open invitation to invite evil into the school.
So black is out in Angle’s view. One can only wonder just how far her hatred of the color black really runs. Does it only apply to clothing?
Yet beyond the sheer madness lays a much more important decision, the reality of what is best for Nevada and the fate it would receive upon electing the wrong candidate.
Predictions currently suggest the race to the Senate seat is neck and neck in Nevada. Surely, in a state with the highest unemployment, a distinct lack of leadership within the State Legislator itself, and the need to pull Nevada back on track as quickly as possible, electing the most powerful and influential person to the Senate seat should be what voters consider a priority as November elections near.
Replacing a Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid, with a religious fanatic Junior Senator, Sharron Angle, would be a sure sign Nevada has lost its mind.
Senator Reid, recently instrumental in obtaining egress through the Indian reservation for power lines designed to bring alternative forms of energy not only to California, but Pahrump and Las Vegas – continues to demonstrate signs of leadership and knowledge of what Nevada needs most… the creation of jobs. Conversely, his opponent has demonstrated little by way of solutions, although we have been treated with an abundance of her religious dogma.
It is redundant, but necessary, to remind Nevadans that Sharron Angle does not see job creation as part of her would-be job description as a Junior Senator in Washington. Thankfully, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid does.
As we head to the polls in November, Nevadans also need to keep uppermost in their minds that as Sharron Angle speaks, she has a specific religion in mind… hers. The ideology of religion changes from denomination to denomination. Should Angle win, one must ask if her beliefs are truly the same as that of the voters. Remember the Crusades?
Claiming black is evil and a sure sign one is in league with the devil, while playing the recession is all Reid’s fault tune, just do not seem substantial enough evidence that Nevada would be better off replacing a Senior Senator with an individual many are calling “just plain crazy”.
Nevada needs to think clearly and act wisely. Remember, you do get what you wish for – but often it is not the answer one thought one would receive.
