President Obama to GOP Stop Blocking the Nation’s Economic Progress

Washington, D.C. (Aug 30) – This afternoon, President Obama addressed the nation regarding the nation’s economic woes planning an “full-scale” attack on the nations economy. The president stressed the fact that the GOP needs to halt it’s obstructionism regarding economic measures specifically, the Small Business Jobs Creation Act.

The economic situation has deteriorated over the first part of this part of this decade to depths, that the nation has not witnessed in almost a century. With poor economic policies, and lack of oversight, middle-class America has been hit hard.

President Obama, “What we did know was that it took nearly a decade to dig the hole that we’re in -– and that it would take longer than any of us would like to climb our way out.  And while we have taken a series of measures and come a long way since then, the fact is, that too many businesses are still struggling; too many Americans are still looking for work; and too many communities are far from being whole again.”

As Congressional Leadership and the Administration has presented and implemented several economic recovery plans over the last 20 months, progress appears to be returning to the nation, just not fast enough. The major obstacle to economic growth over the last nearly two years, has been simply the Republican Party.

The GOP continues to hold the nation’s workforce hostage while jockeying for better political position within the halls of our nation’s capitol. With a fixation for power, the GOP has forgotten the nation’s workforce.

To counter these measures, the President is recommending continuation of tax-cuts for the middle class and small businesses along with, the swift passage of the Small Business Jobs Creation bill. In order for the nation’s economy to turn around, President Obama has called on the Republican Minority to, “[sic]… to drop the blockade.  I know we’re entering election season, but the people who sent us here expect us to work together to get things done and improve this economy.”

Last year, Small businesses accounted for nearly 60 percent of all new hires, the backbone of recovery. The nation’s major politically aligned corporations cannot be relied upon to help the revival simply due to the fact that, those corporations are still enjoying one of the worse economic decisions to come from the former administration, the Foreign Tax Credits.

The Foreign Tax Credits alone accounted for the loss of nearly 5 million American jobs to overseas and offshore businesses as CEO’s rushed to take advantage of a tax loophole create specifically for them by the Republican Party in return for financial backing which, allows them to reap in huge profits and avoid taxes by simply shipping American jobs overseas.

President Obama once again in efforts to reverse the nation’s economic woes of the last administration, has called upon Senate Republicans to, “[sic}… to drop the blockade.  I know we’re entering election season, but the people who sent us here expect us to work together to get things done and improve this economy.”

Inclosing his remarks, the President reminded the nation that there is no “silver bullet” that will send the nearly 30 million unemployed or underemployed Americans back to work tomorrow.

President Obama, “It’s going to take a full-scale effort, a full-scale attack that not only helps in the short term, but builds a firmer foundation that makes our nation stronger for the long haul.  But this step will benefit small business owners and our economy right away.  That’s why it’s got to get done.”

The Republican Party must decide to finally begin to support  America’s workforce and stop worrying about their own personal financial and political gains, something that is not a norm, for the Republican Party.
