Lebanon – Movie Review

NY, NY (Aug 22) – In this war film based upon Israel’s invasion of Lebanon in 1982, four Israelis soldiers assigned to a tank unit, set out for their assignment in Lebanon in this rather disturbing, violent and bloody movie.

Assi, the tank commander played by Itay Tiran keeps his crew focused during the perilous journey towards the Lebanon border. Helping injured Israelis along the way, the film maintains a sense of realism. The tanks crew, Shmulik played by Yoav Sonat, is the gunner of the outfit, Hertzel is the gunners mate always on alert played by, Oshri Cohen, and Yigal played by Michael Moshonov, is the tanks driver.

After reaching their destination in Lebanon, a border city already bombed out by Israelis jets, the tank crew fines themselves under attack by Syrian resistance fighters.

Starring: Yoav Donat, Itay Tiran, Oshri Cohen, Ashraf Barhom, and Reymond this film has been rated ‘R’ for disturbing bloody war violence, language, and some nudity.

Directed, by Samuel Maoz, this drama last 92 minutes and has received a five star review by industry film critics.
