Kabul, Afghanistan (June 6) – A Suspected Haqqani network facilitator along with, several insurgents were detained in Khost and Farah provinces. An ISAF service member dies.
An ISAF service member was killed on June 4 as a result of small arms fire in southern Afghanistan. The name of the service member has not been released.
In a compound east of Langharah, Tania district, combined security forces captured a Haqqani facilitator who was involved in the movement of foreign fighters, and improvised explosive devices from Pakistan. He is well connected to senior Haqqani commanders in Khost and Pakitiya. His efforts were suicide bombings targeted at Afghani civilians.
A number of insurgents suspected of illegal activities were detained by Afghan-international security forces in Farah Province. The insurgents were captured during the search of several buildings well known as hideouts and the center of other illegal activities. Along with the insurgents a weapons cache was discovered, and destroyed.
