Mets try to end their three game losing streak tonight in Cincinnati

Cincinnati, OH (May 4) –The New York Mets will take on the Cincinnati Reds tonight in Cincinnati.  The Mets come into the game on a three game losing streak.  John Maine is making the start against Bronson Arroyo.  Here are the lineups and pregame news and notes.

Mets Lineup:Pagan(CF), Castillo(2B), Reyes(SS), Bay(LF), Wright(3B), Davis(1B), Francoeur(RF), Barajas(C), Maine(P)

Reds Lineup:Stubbs(CF), Phillips(2B), Votto(1B), Rolen(3B), Bruce(RF), Cabrera(SS), Nix(LF), Hanigan(C), Arroyo(P)

The Mets are 5-6 this year after a loss.  The Mets are 4-4 in second games of a series this season including 1-2 on the road.  The Mets are 1-3 in extra innings overall and 1-2 in extra frames on the road.  They suffered their second walk off loss of the year last night.  New York has three road victories that are tied for fewest in the majors.  Atlanta, Houston, and Baltimore also only have three victories.  The Mets are 3-7 on the road.

The Mets are 1-3 on their current six game road trip.  During the first four games, the pitching staff has posted a 6.11 ERA.  The Mets pitchers have allowed 11 walks and struck out 27.  The Mets have hit 201 at the plate, scoring 16 runs with 9 doubles, 6 home runs, and 16 RBI.  They also have struck out 20 times and walked five times.  The Mets have stolen 14 consecutive bases dating back to April 19.

The Mets have stolen 23 bases overall and been caught four times for a 85% success rate.  It is the second-best percentage in the majors.  The Milwaukee Brewers have stolen 18 out of 19.  The Mets are tied for fifth with 23 stolen bases, the Padres and White Sox are first with 31.  The Mets minor league affiliates are a combined 55-43 for a 561 winning percentage.
