The Israeli Navy has vowed to stop a ship convoy named Freedom Flotilla from carrying humanitarian aid and commercial supplies to the Gaza Strip in Palestine. According to FreeGaza.org the ship convoy is carrying 10,000 tons of aid, 800 activists and politicians from 40 over countries. Scientists, writers, doctors, and Nobel prize winners are also among the convoy.
Israel has a blockade on the Gaza Strip preventing items such as fresh meat, chocolate, jam, potato chips, and dried fruit from entering Gaza. A number of politicians and humanitarians have called for an end to the blockade. Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter has said, “Tragically, the international community largely ignores the cries for help, while the citizens of Gaza are being treated more like animals than human beings…Starving of 1 1/2 million people of the necessities of life.”
Yesterday the new European Union Minister’s spokeswoman made a statement in support of ending Israel’s blockade on Gaza. They stated, “…We would like to reiterate the EU’s call for an immediate, sustained and unconditional opening of crossings for the flow of humanitarian aid, commercial goods and persons to and from Gaza.” The United Nations has referred to Israel’s blockade on Gaza as “collective punishment,” which is strictly prohibited under Article 33 of the Fourth Geneva Convention. The Freedom Flotilla vows to break the illegal blockade.

Let me see… Jimmy Carter has said, “Tragically, the international community largely ignores the cries for help, while the citizens of Gaza are being treated more like animals than human beings…Starving of 1 1/2 million people of the necessities of life.”
And what the convey is bringing in…”chocolate, jam, potato chips….”
Gives me a whole new perspective on what are now necessities!!

PResident Jimmy Carter is right. The point President Carter was making is that things such as even chocolate are blocked from entering the Gaza Strip because of Israel. Why are potato chips and chocolate blocked from entering Gaza? Why have children went without chocolate for over 3 years?
What Israel is doing in regards to the blockade on Gaza is evil. Israel is trying to beat down the Gazan people (obviously). God-forbid Gazans have any joy. (sarcasm)
