Alexandria, LA (Mar 31) – The United States Marshalls office have an all points bulletin out on three convicts considered to be extremely dangerous that escaped the Avoyelles Parish Sherriff’s Office, on March 31, 2010.
A Corrections Officer opening a door to a disciplinary holding cell to provide water to the prisoners was attacked from behind, and knife put to his throat. Under the threat of death, the officer opened a nearby access door, all three inmates then escaped.
Quentin M. Truehill held the officer at knifepoint as another Corrections Officer attempted to intervene and was slashed across the hand.
Quentin M. Truehill, Kentrell F. Johnson, and Peter M. Hughes all fled the facility.
As Corrections Officers, and City Police tracked the escapees into nearby woods utilizing a K-9 police units, the scent ran cold in a nearby K-Mart parking lot.
It is suspected that the prisoners were aided by an accomplice in a waiting vehicle in the parking lot.
The following information was made available to the public concerning the escapees; Truehill, a 22 year old Black Male, 140 lbs has a tattoo of a cross on his forehead, originally from New Orleans, but moved to Lafayette after hurricane Katrina, Sentenced to 30 years for Manslaughter, and has a previous conviction of Armed Robbery in Rapides Parish.
Hughes, a 22 year old, Black Male, 6’2” weighing 152lbs, originally from Abbeville, LA., was serving a 4 year sentence for Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling.
Johnson, a 39 year old, Black Male, 230lbs, originally from Lafourche, Thibodaux area, is serving a ten year sentence for Parole Violation along with Armed Robbery.
