Washington, D.C. (Mar 20) – Yesterday President Obama issued a statement regarding both H.R. 3590 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, and H.R. 4872 Health Care and Education Affordability Reconciliation Act of 2010.
In his remarks, President Obama pointed out with the passage of Health Care Reform Americans, like Members of Congress would be provided with the same choices regarding Health Care, stating, “This legislation makes significant improvements that will help to give American families and small business owners more control of their own health care. It makes important changes – ending the worst practices of insurance companies; giving uninsured individuals and small business owners the same kind of choice of private health insurance that Members of Congress have; and bringing down the cost of health care for families and businesses while also reducing Federal budget deficits.”
Americans with pre-existing medical conditions would no longer be denied coverage helping millions to become insured, and set provisions in act eliminating some of the “worst insurance industry abuses”.
Additional benefits to Americans include provisions to enhance post-secondary education, and establishing a cap placed on student loan payment levels. The President stated, “This legislation contributes to transforming the health care system to make health care more accessible and affordable for the American people. It also includes provisions that would eliminate wasteful subsidies for student loan lenders and invest these savings to fortify the Pell Grant program and increase Pell Grants for millions of students; strengthen community colleges; strengthen Historically Black Colleges and Universities and other Minority-Serving Institutions; and allow students to cap student loan payments at affordable levels. The education provisions are estimated by the Congressional Budget Office to reduce the deficit. The Administration urges quick action on this landmark reform.”

Hi, I just found this NEW CBO letter while researching other things on the health care bill:
This shows there would be AN INCREASE TO THE DEFICITS
CONGRESSIONAL BUDGET OFFICE Douglas W. Elmendorf, Director

Honorable Paul Ryan
Ranking Member
Committee on the Budget

Dear Congressman:
This letter responds to several questions you have asked about the effects of an amendment in the nature of a substitute to H.R. 4872, the Reconciliation Act of 2010, which was made public on March 18, 2010. That amendment (hereafter called “the reconciliation proposal”) represents one component of the health care legislation being considered by the Congress; the other component is a bill, H.R. 3590, that the Senate passed in December. The analysis provided in this letter is based on the preliminary estimate of the direct spending and revenue effects of that amendment that was prepared by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) and the staff of the Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT). The Combined Budgetary Impact of Enacting the Reconciliation Proposal, H.R. 3590, and H.R. 3961. You asked about the total budgetary impact of enacting the reconciliation proposal (the amendment to H.R. 4872), the Senate-passed health bill (H.R. 3590), and the Medicare Physicians Payment Reform Act of 2009 (H.R. 3961). CBO estimates that enacting all three pieces of legislation would “add $59 billion to budget deficits” over the 2010–2019 period.

I am not certain if you are trying to make a positive comment or not? The GOP are spewing some myth that the bill would ad trillions to the budget over the next 9 years…
They are spending 8.9 billion a day on some phony war in Iraq the republicans had no problems approving monies for of course, since their hero Cheney owned the company that was “given” the civilian contract to oversee operations in Iraq would pretty much answer the question as to why the corrupt minority of the GOP bans together on projects that rake in monies for the wealthy, and screw the average American worker..
