The Peoples Democratic Party in New York has responded to the leadership impasse and continued crises blamed on religion has lauded the maneuvers and maturity displayed by Acting President Goodluck Jonathan in reorganizing the structure of leadership especially with the dissolution of the Federal Executive Council.
This was contained in a press release signed by the chairman of the party in New York Chief Oluwafemi Sanyaolu, Chairman Global Campaign for Africa Democracy after a meeting with citizens of Nigeria in United States on the state of affairs of the nation and the way forward.
Chief Sanyaolu added that if the country is to sustain democracy, ample attention should be given to security of lives and properties, pointing out that, the recent recurrence of unnecessary killings in Jos has further painted the country in bad light, stressing that if Acting President Jonathan Goodluck is to fully take charge of the running of the nation, the redress that he has started should be taken seriously.
According to him, the unguarded and malicious comment of the Libyan President Mummar Ghadafi whom being the advocate of a united Africa should never have arisen if the country did not have a leadership crisis, adding that the decision of the acting President to withdraw its ambassador from the country was a move in the right direction.
“That the Federal Executive Council has been dissolved has shown that the nation can and will always forge ahead with a leader with integrity and vision in the person of Goodluck Jonathan whom many thought was a weakling and afraid of responsibilities,” he emphasized.
The democracy advocate urged that those who used the absence of President Yar’adua to loot and form an untouchable cabal should be interrogated and prosecuted if found guilty of abuse of office, advising that they must not be allowed in the new cabinet structure that is surely aimed at moving the country out of the murky waters of maladministration.
On the Jos crises, Chief Sanyaolu stated that the diversity in Nigeria should be a unifying factor binding us together to make us unique with unparallel and unequaled strength that will keep us ahead as the giant of Africa that is the envy of other nations in Africa and the rest of the world, and called on the federal government to ensure that those behind the scene fuelling the cord of disunity are fished out and jailed.
“We shall all live to be the advocates of a Nigeria that our children and generations unborn will be proud to live in and even those of us in the Diaspora can proudly walk with our head high. That is why we commit our resources and our time to this end, and our children will want to come back to settle in their fatherland, with their brothers and sisters regardless of tribe, religion and culture,” he opined.
He wondered why a country like Nigeria should allow its citizens suffer and wallop in poverty amidst plenty, when smaller nation thrive in prosperity pointing out that the life of the masses have been made worse with scarcity of petrol, expensive food items, continuing rise of unemployment, perpetual closing of higher institutions and that recently Nigerians in Diaspora who are doing business in Nigeria are being made to pay $455.00 extra on any container of goods shipped to the country to a private company in Houston Texas, and $370 on every car shipped to Nigeria.
The Peoples Democratic Party stalwart said the ludicrous payment started when the country had leadership problem some months ago and pleaded with the acting president to investigate the issue with the view of ascertaining what went wrong and where the collected tariffs entered.
“What type of a country collects taxes from its citizen in a foreign land, and where do such monies go? Those behind these rip-offs should tell us where such is practiced in the world and if it is in the interest of its citizens in Diaspora? He queried.
Chief Sanyaolu advised the acting president to be courageous and act decisively, stressing that those handling the President’s illness had swayed the compassion people had for him the day they smuggled him back into the country because their intentions are well known and that has put them into a quagmire because the table seems to be gradually turning on them with recent events.
He enjoined Nigerians to see Peoples Democratic Party as the party that will achieve and bring them the required leadership they desire and that their dreams will become reality under the leadership the party has painfully elected, believing that in the absence of one the other should function even better.

One must have a magot in his brain,or he is either a nitwit or the very personification of lucifer himself, to enjoin Nigerians to support PDP,the very party
which 11 year rule has made Nigeria what is today,a failed nation.PDP is not a political party. It is a club of bribe takers.
