Inhumanity: Armed Bandits Rob Bus, 30 Dead

Updated information regarding an incident on February, 25 2010

It was a National tragedy in Nigeria today as armed bandits murdered 30 people and raped 25 women along the Lagos-Benin expressway. The carnage lasted for over 4 hours.

WorldNewsVine has learned that over 25 heavily armed bandits ambushed a transportation bus belonging to The Young Shall Grow Transportation Company traveling across the nation at 2: 00 AM in the morning.  The thugs ambushed the bus by opening fire from about 3 kilometers as the bus approached at high speed.  The bus driver stopped the vehicle with the over 50 people on-board.

Due to the high rate of road robberies in Nigeria, business travelers have learned to travel with their bank cheque books or an ATM cards instead of carrying cash, while others simply order the goods and have them delivered just to avoid being robbed.

The armed bandits had intentions of running a smooth and bloodless operation; however, very few victims were carrying cash, so the group apparently became enraged and the carnage began.

During the massacre, women both young and old were raped, then murdered. The bandits ordered all passengers out onto the expressway along with what little possession they had.

A female survivor told WorldNewsVine that after the arm robbers raped the women and took their valuables, they ordered the remaining passengers to divide into two groups; the ones with cash lined-up on the right and the others on the left side of the bus.

The victim further stated:  “The arm robbers asked the people without money to lay down on the expressway.  They said that they must be stupid to be riding in an expensive bus thinking that they are wise not carrying money  in case if they are robbed so that the robbers would not get anything.”   One robbers said:  “They can go to hell to withdraw their money fromtheir ATMs and cheque books and spend it in hell.”

Soon after making that statement; the armed bandits ordered the driver at gunpoint to drive his bus over the passengers.  The driver had no choice but to ram the victims, killing 30.

In the aftermath, the killers ordered the bus driver off the vehicle  to witness the carnage. They then ordered himto walk amongs the dead or be killed.  When he refused to do so, he was executed by his abductors.
