Nigerian police investigator murdered in cold blood

By: Victor Ulasi, Nigeria

A Nigerian Police investigator, Danjuma Mohammed who works for the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has been shot dead in the abdomen by unknown gunmen in the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria, Abuja at the front of his newly rented home.

The deceased was supposed to get married next week to a lay lawyer  In Kano state, Nigeria, traditionally in Nigeria two married women do not usually live in the same house. So, Mr. Mohammed decided to pay a visit to the new rented home for his new wife to make sure everything is in order, but unfortunately he was shot dead at the scene.

WorldNewsVine learns that the deceased police investigator was a former top detective who worked for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and investigated so-called corrupt cases of some elite politicians in Nigeria that caused many to lose thousands of dollars.

Unconfirmed report from Mohammed’s neighbor, Zubairu Dala Fika, stated that the assailants arrived at the deceased newly rented home at approximately 11 am in the morning of 21/02/2010 at 24th Crescent in Gwarimpa Housing Estate, Abuja, Nigeria in a 2001 model of Toyota Camry paint with golden color.

WorldNewsVine could not verify the report by Mr. Fika, as other neighbors who claimed to have lived in the area for the past seven years said they have no idea of Mr. Fika’s whereabouts.  He has only been in the neighborhood since the previous three days and thought to be a member of the gang who assassinated the victim.
