The world has understood that nothing was fabricated and nothing can be looked down. The ground under the penguins are giving way, the sea would hide the Maldivian lands, the rivers would never flow as they were, the world is warming up and carbon emissions are the infernos. Even the release of intercepted calls between the US and UK scientists stating the statistics to be illegitimate was never bothered. Mr. Pachauri who warned that the calculations were wrong, but the world is sinking faster than we had ever thought was accepted. World is changing and the countries have proclaimed their goals well before the summit.
China which is the top polluter and top carbon emitting nation has overwhelmingly declare that it is to reduce its carbon emission by 30-40% by 2025. This definitely made a strain to the other developing nations which were on the path of accusing the developed world for all the reasons they could grab.
India followed suit and announced 25% reduction within 2025, though the country would not be liable for any change in the values. The announcement came as a threat to other Third World countries which were always behind India and even when pressure is rising at home against this declaration. Brazil, South Africa, Indonesia etc. have announced a similar reduction following India. The countries have asked the richer ones to freely donate the green technology to them. Any reforms not in their list would be dealt by a joint walk-out by all Afro-Asian countries.
US which is presently the second top polluter has announced a meager 17% reductions in the green house gas emissions which came nothing near the expected values from Obama. The country is on the quote that the developing nations would have to reduce it more as the nation is planning for a green revolution. US Supreme Court has granted the Environmental Protection Agency to move ahead with green reforms without the need of laws being passed by the Senate, which would add momentum to Obama’s hope of an eco-friendly nation.
European Union has declared a 25-30% reduction in emissions but is of the view that all nations should sign agreements regarding this, which is not well accepted. Various nations are expected to follow the regards of these countries and come up with better solutions.
With the summit days ahead and more national premieres promising to attend the event, we hope better news would be coming from the sides of all nations and the earth would remain to exist as it is. We have the duty to present this world as it was to the future generations as projected in the introduction video of the summit where children from all around the world were making appeal.
